crevel’s is an odd novel with plenty ‘interesting’ lines like the following:

A feline floating in a baggy jacket, a feline with big shoes (“The French,” he says, “love shoes, not feet, clothes but not bodies, and that’s why they live in such narrow, velvet-and-leather-lined room”).
